How do I get the artwork files to work?

Files within the Artwork folder are Zip Files. To use these files you will need to:

Download and Save the file you want to your computer.
Go to the file location and Right Click on the File
Choose “Extract All” – The computer will want to create a new file folder in the same place as your zip file – just allow it.
Open the new file folder and you will find your jpg file.
Go to a document in whatever program you like to use (Word, Publisher, etc.)
Start a new Document
Insert picture
Insert and use text boxes or photos to add your church name, church logo, address, phone, meeting times, etc.
Save file
Print.

Communication Cards

Getting your parents on board to help their children learn the curriculum is a great benefit to your club. We find that it is often difficult for the younger children to communicate to their parents or K4T worker what they have learned, need to recite, or where they are in the book.

New weekly cards (http://equipu.kids4truth.com/files/folders/communication_cards/default.aspx) are available to encourage communication between the worker and parents.

Please share your feedback and ideas on these cards! Are they helpful? Do you want items like this for the older levels? Do they contain too little or much information?

Different Ways to Earn Bonus Patches

There are tons of ways that you can choose to use the awards system in a Kids 4 Truth program. Our desire at Kids 4 Truth is to make the curriculum and program as flexible as possible to meet the needs of each local church. However, many churches using Truth Cards may find it difficult to know how to handle bonus patches. Here are just a few scenarios to help you out:

Bonus Patches: Choose from one of 4 choices of how to earn the bonus award.

Recite all 10 TruthCards for the Doctrinal theme at one time.
Complete and Turn in all 10 WebNumbers Activities for the Doctrinal Theme. (Those can be found here.)
If the child has purchased the TruthBook, he/she can recite the Bonus Questions for 5 out of the 10 units for the Doctrinal Theme.
If the child has purchased the TruthBook, he/she can fill in the blanks for all ten units within the Doctrinal Theme. (Note: if your family uses this for family devotionals...you can fill the blanks in the oldest child’s TurthBook and it counts for the entire family. Child is responsible to show TruthBook to his/her small group leader.)

Other ideas for the bonus patch:

Attendance & Responsibility – Faithfully attend and bring your Bible, TruthBook and Awards Standard during the time we study each doctrinal theme. (I never expect perfection as many times it is not a child’s fault if he/she doesn’t get to attend – so I normally recommend about 75% of the time.)

You may also be having trouble remembering how the other award patches are earned if you are only using TruthCards in your ministry. Our clubs administrator has just created award coupon cards with a description of how each award is earned on the back so that leaders, parents, and children will see immediately how awards are earned. This document is an editble PDF that can be printed on business cards and included with the truth cards either on a ring or in the truth card wallet. I am new to Kids4Truth and am having some difficulty locating information. On lesson plan 0101 in the section of "Getting Back to God" there is an asterisk note- Teachers, please remember that this section should include the fruit of your "Teacher Truth Study" and one or two personal illustrations or anecdotes from the "Personalize It" activity in the Teacher Preparation Phase. Is there a separate download for the teacher truth study? If so where is the link. I cannot seem to locate it. Thanks

We decided to buy the latest (2009) editions of the Truthbooks for our church’s club, but we still have many 2006 and 2008 books. You may have decided to continue using the older Truthbooks and you may need more to have enough of the same editions. The “Book 1’s” that we have are probably all 2006 editions. The “Book 2’s” are probably all 2008 editions. I am not sure about the Discoverer books. I included the dates from the unopened books, because I was able to verify them with the labeling on the shrink wrap. *The following are available for sale as described. We are asking the regular prices listed for the same items on the EquipU website, but we may be open to offers on some or all of the items. Also, the shipping is to be paid for by the buyer. **“Opened, but unused” means we took the shrink wrap off and possibly put a blank name label on the front, but we did not give them to a child to use. There is zero writing, etc. on the inside or outside of the book. They are “like new.” ***We also have many used books from all 4 levels and all 12 themes! They are mainly NKJV with a few KJV. Camper: [BIG SIGH] "Well, here it is. Every time I hear about Nepal I get this tingly feeling in my heart. I think that maybe God wants me to go there."

Me: "Hey that's great..." [Camper interrupts my positive expression]

Camper: "Yeah but I ALSO think that God wants me to be a farmer."

Me: "Well maybe you can do some farming in Nepal."

Camper: "Well see that's the problem. I would really like to be a farmer in Nepal but let's say that I need to go back home and visit my mom and dad..."

Me: "uh-huh"

Camper: "...then WHO will watch my COWS?" [this question ends abruptly and with unusual intensity]

Coleman is very excited about starting his first Kids4Truth time tonight! He woke up this morning, before breakfast, and wanted to know if it was time. Then, this afternoon, he woke up from his nap and asked if it was time! His brother's enthusiasm for the program has rubbed off on him. He calls it "Tih-A-Tuth!"

How do we use the TruthBooks when we have just one Discoverers Class not 2 or 3?

We recommend that you rotate (alternate) every other year between TruthBook B and C.

Between TruthBook B and C are the 120 Q&A that are covered within levels 2-4. Therefore, by alternating between the two TruthBooks you will cover all 120 Questions/Answers within the Discoverers years. If you have a younger child in the program (3 year old), feel free to circle the 1-2 answers (or shorten answers) you want him/her to memorize (don't expect as much out of a 3 year old as you do a 4 or 5 year old.

What are the cleaning instructions for standards?

Standards can be washed in the washing machine with normal detergent (NO BLEACH) and cold water. Feel free to use a stain spray or stick to get rid of any stains. It is important to air dry the standards as too much heat will cause the patches to come off.

Mother's Day & Kids 4 Truth

Have you ever thought about how you can incorporate the truths that your children are learning in a K4T club with Mother's Day or Father's Day? The greatest joy of any Christian parent's heart is to see their kids walking in truth, and what better way to celebrate a day honoring mothers than to demonstrate that those truths being learned really are making a difference. Here are a few ideas:

Using one of those cards that you can record a message onto, have your child record a truth and or verse he has memorized and how he is thankful for what he's being taught by his parents.
Include a K4T truth and verse in your Mother's Day card.
Have your child make a picture that depicts the doctrine they are currently learning with the verse, and how it applies to their mom.
Make up a coupon of things to do for mom based on the truths your child has learned in K4T.

Remember that every doctrine learned is practical, and you can relate each truth your children learn to different aspects of life.

Example: If you are studying unit 9 of the theme God's Gift Salvation, you could include something like "I'm thankful that I am a part of God's family forever just like I will always be your child." with Romans 11:29.

This section of the site will house basic Q&A info from each theme as well as a worksheet and/or coloring sheet and craft for every single Q&A for each level. It will also have the lesson plan and related material for adults. We're hoping that these activity sheets will help to reinforce the truths learned in a fun and creative way for kids.

Once our new site is up, you will be able to get to the Q&A you are looking for online by simply typing in the webnumber that appears on the page of the book you are in. This number is located at the bottom of the page of each unit and is appropriately titles "Web Number." The number corresponds to the level your child is in, the theme they are studying and the unit in that theme they are working on. So a 5th or 6th grader studying God's Word the Bible Q&A 2 would have a web number that looks like this: 040102.

All that to say, we are going to be offering different word and math puzzles, cutting and pasting, follow the path, and much more. Many of these worksheets can also double as coloring sheets and take home pages for Sunday School or Club because they will have the Q&A with the verse on each one.
