   Discoverers A - Lead Teacher - starting 3rd yr.

6. I don't know the #.

7. This is our 3rd year.

8. Wednesday night

9. Staying together as a group

10. Yes, we use the Discoverers program.

My first response as a teacher is that coming up with more activities to fill the extra weeks to"match"  each theme would be a challenge. Some of them are difficult to make up just a few coloring/craft ideas. We've used the program long enough that I'm personally getting comfortable with the program as it is, but I'm only one person.

For parents, I can see that it would be easier to study together with everyone at the same place in the program.

For rewriting the program for 3's, 4's and 5's, I'm guessing that there would be an A1 book, A2 book, B1 book, B2 book, etc. since the ability of the children is so varied.

11. Adding more coloring/activity pages would be helpful for the Discoverers.

Add ideas for promoting the individual level themes (treasure hunt, construction, mystery, etc.) with award incentives, or page setup for printing letters, activity pages, or signs.

     12. I haven't seen the fill in the blank sections in the books for the first graders, but I have heard comments from parents and leaders that the blanks are too small for the children to write in with their large printing style. Idea: Make stickers with the correct answers for the children to fill in the verses at club or at home.

This will be our first year - using as Sunday morning service- currently about 60-70 children age 4-12. Will be using Discovers "B" - Would see program more user friendly if was actually 1 unit weekly for all levels.

Boe is Children's Pastor, I am blessed to be his wife and assistant. ( Joanna )
