  • The Best Series I Heard In 2006

AssuranceThese messages are by Dr. Matthew Hoskinson and comprise a series entitled “Christ Our Assurance.” Matthew did his dissertation on “Assurance of Salvation” and this resultant series is the fruit of hundreds of hours of study, writing, and prayer. It will help the Christian to develop a stronger theology concerning his assurance of salvation. It will also help one to examine his true spiritual condition before God.

Message 1 — Christ Our Wisdom

Message 2 — Christ Our Righteousness

Message 3 — Christ Our Sanctification

Message 4 — Christ Our Redemption

I’m trying to convince Matthew to help Kids 4 Truth write a booklet/tract to help provide a solid theology of assurance for juniors. If any of you have any good ideas about such a project, please let me know: bob@kids4truth.com

As I travel and meet more and more Christians, the issue of assurance is always near the top of the list, if not the #1 issue. Do you have a calm assurance that you are a child of God? Is the basis of your assurance firmly grounded in the Word of God? Are you 100% confident that if you died right now you would be accepted by a holy God because you’ve been granted the righteousness of Christ? Believe me, I know what it feels like to answer “no” or a less-than-hearty “yes” to those questions. If you are one whose faith is shaken by questions like these, please give these messages a listen.  You’re not beleiving the truth at some point(s). You need to think God’s thoughts after Him and this series will help you to do that.

  • The Best Message I Heard In 2006

Paul washerI heartily recommend that you spend the hour necessary to listen to a timely and thoroughly biblical message. Listening to this message today has done my heart and head much good. I think this will become one of those messages that I listen to once or twice a year. The text is Matthew 7:13–27.

    Some thoughts from the message:

    • “Your best friend is the one who tells you the most truth.”
    • “I fear men that have spent much of their lives telling people that they are saved. You don’t tell men they are saved. You tell men how to be saved. God tells men they are saved.”
    • “We do not want to offend. We want to be seeker friendly. What you need to realize is there is only one Seeker and His Name is God. And if you want to be friendly to someone in your church you need to be friendly to God. You need to be concerned more for the glory of God than you are for the attitudes of men.”
    • Paraphrase: If I told you that I was running a little late today because I was ran over by a semi-truck carrying logs travelling at 120 miles per hour, you’d think that I was either a liar or a madman. Why? Because it’s absolutely absurd to have an encounter with something as large as a logging truck and not be changed. But what is larger—a logging truck, or God? How is that so many people profess to have had an encounter with Jesus Christ but are not changed?
    • “If it doesn’t last, it was not a great move of God.”

You will notice that this preacher has a strong, solid theology and talks often about the importance of good doctrine. The best preachers have the best theology.

I promise you that listening to this message will be a wise investment of your time.
